I'm not familiar with this system but it sounds like it is just an amp and not an intergraded amp/pre-amp/ tuner combo. If this is the case you will need a pre-amp to hook any other electronic device to it. This will allow you to hook up a cd player, turntabel, ect. Hope this helps if not you might want to clarify a little more. Keep in mind this site is more geared toward the dj components of Technics and other brands and not so much the home systems.

Well this isn't the first and I'm sure not the last we will discuss this topic. I looked at the number who signed the petition. It will take a whole bunch more for them to even budge I'm sure. Have you taken this to other sites to get other dj's interested. I think the more attention you bring the better the end result.

I have an SE HD550 system which i bought as a demo unit,so have no info about it.What i want is a turntable,i have tried a couple but there was no sound and i was told i needed a unit with a built in amp, which my others lacked. Is this correct,if so i then need to check the For Sale section.I do not know much about stereos etc so any help would be appreciated.

Here is a petition that i have just started, I hope that it will get panasonic to create a new DZ1200.
http://dz1200mk2.epetitions.net/ <--- this is the link and i hope that any who sign this do it with the intention to help technics stay alive. please leave comments or ideas of what the new turntable should feature if created. thank you for all those who help and i apologize if this is in the wrong forum.

I have solved the problem!
After contacting Panasonic and being told I'd have to send it for repair costing $$$ I thought I'd better read up more, and thanks to this site I was able to assume that the problem was most likely with the sensor. So I removed the lcd screen and took the sensor out and cleaned it as well as all the dust build-up (heaps!!) inside. And it's back and running as normal so I guess somethng was blocking the sensor from reading properly.

I wana say thanks to the founders of the site because even though no one was able to help me personally all of the information gathered here was enough in the end. Now I can get back to my favourite hobby I've gone 5 days no mixing and am having withdrawls!!
Peace.

You can always try the 1 gig card. According to the manual it gives the recommended use of a smaller sd card for firmware updates.
