Re: Replacing Sensor In Six Easy Steps

Hi Privilege,

I know, I've been disappointed by many things as well...

Though I have to give you guys much respect for what efforts you'll make to repair your DZ's, its awesome!

I cant say enough that the DZ is a turntable that never got the recognition it truly deserves, being a turntable made to emulate the original 1200's for me it's design has acheived that, many people were not happy with it not being a pioneer clone with more bells and whistles, but it wasn't made to be that! It was made to be used like an original 1200 for "vinyl style" dj'ing,  I Thank you for supporting this legendary turntable!!!  Wink

Re: Replacing Sensor In Six Easy Steps

Dear SenseiHause,
at the moment, I definitively have to say that THERE IS NOTHING better than a DZ-1200 to use in combination with a DVS software like Traktor Scratch Pro. Probably the DZ has a lot of limitation and a bad digital sound especially with pitch-lock on (the problem was well faced with the latest firmware update not completely fixed) and I have to admit that the DZ has a limited SD Card application, no USB and a very slow CD load time.

BUT, as I told you before, for a DVS software it's the best solution.

It combines the sensation of a Technics SL serie (I love it) without having problems while using vinyl timecodes.
Still the best design ever for a CDJ. I know, probably I cannot define it a CDJ but who made the CDJ Standard? Pioneer? Pioneer just own the market, and because of it, Pioneer makes the trend. I own two Pioneer cdj2000, but telling the truth I DO NOT enjoy mixing as much as I enjoy it while using the DZ1200 (and of course the SL12xx).

Digital distorsion? The audio signal is processed by the software and your laptop, so no worries about it.
Slow CD Load? Where's the problem. After you insert your Timecode CD, you'll not need to change it anymore during your performance.

Panasonic made a big mistake to retire the DZ's from the market instead of improving this piece of jewel. Probably they entered too late into the CDJ market to compete at the same level of Pioneer, but they were on the right way like nobody else before and now.

That's an incredible pitty.

Cheers
