How long does it take to install the new firmware ?

I have 2 sl-dz1200's  Grin and after finding out i had firmware 1.9 and even 1,7 i wanted to install the new firmware 2.3.
I just was wondering how long it takes to install the new firmware.
I followed the steps and cue pad 3 is lightning already for about 5 minuts.

Maybe before there comes an answer it's already finished.. and maybe it's idea to tell how long it takes to install it.

Greetings,

Kroko

It may take a while. Just follow the instructions and be patient.

No Kroko, an hour is too long.  When I had mine, it was about 5 mins to upgrade per deck.

Re: How long does it take to install the new firmware ?

Well thanks to TIMECODE who was an excellent help on the phone i was able to update the firmware.

The problem was that i format the sd card in my pc and not in the sl-dz1200 itself.
Ofcourse you guys wrote it, but i did not know that it was possible to do it in the sl-dz1200.
Ofcourse if i had a manual it was more easy... but ok.. thanks again to TIMECODE both
my sl-dz's have 2.3.now.

Maybe it's an idea to make a topic : "  Install new firmware for dummies who have no manual and cannot read so verry well "  Wink

Greetings !!!

Kroko, you can check with your region's Panasonic website.  They always have the manual available.

Re: How long does it take to install the new firmware ?

Hello John,

I checked Panasonic.nl but there is no Dutch manual to find. There is Englisch, German, Canadian French, korean and even Chinese :-)
But i asked a friend who has 2 books and he was willing to send me one of them. I hope to get it in a few days.
I think there is a lot to learn for me.

Gr,

Re: How long does it take to install the new firmware ?

Thanks John,

But it's a bit strange that it's not available in The Netherlands but in Belgium they have it.
I checked the German panasonic site but over there was also no Dutch manual. But thanks
to you i got it now !!!

Re: How long does it take to install the new firmware ?

Hi all  Smiley
im new too the forums here & very new too the technics sl-dz1200's

After spending many years on the 1210mk2's I thought Id finally take the journey further and crossover to cdjs but of course I decided to stick with technics as they have allways been solid and never let me down apart from a needle change now and again.

Anyway i took the leap to cdjs thinking id stick with technics as I thought they were tried and tested without having done much or any research on them at all.. just thought Id stick with a brand I have allways known & trusted. Technics.

I have however managed to buy a set of technics sl-dz1200's & I am currently waiting for them to arrive in the next few days hopefully!
however after doing a bit of scouting about across the internet I have discovered a lot of positives & negatives too the technics sl-dz1200's.
Eventually I came a cross this forum wich i believe is a great help & resource for many technics users/djs alike.

The problem I believe I am going to have tho initially is aquiring the newest firmware update & applying it too the technics sl-dz1200's as I am as I said earlier new to this and would appreaciate it very much if you guys could give me some input & your help in how best to deal with this issue step by step and what I will need to do this etc etc???

I contacted the person who Ive bought them from & he has never updated or knew how too since he bought them but declares there in pristine condition. (fingers crossed)

The other thing I'd like to know is if these would play okay on cdj stands on an angle??
As Id like to set them up behind my mixer and the 1210's I allready have if possible.
Your feed back & input & help with all the above would be very much appreaciated!

Re: How long does it take to install the new firmware ?

Welcome to the forum. Well there are instructions on how to check your firmware version and then how to install the update. Just follow the instructions carefully and you should be just fine. As far as the stands you speak of for the DZ's...just as long as the angle is not too steep you should be fine and they will play. Just do a search on any topic you have questions, if you can't find it just ask and we will help as best we can from our experience with the decks.
