Roland MV8800 Price Drop $1099

I went to www.americanmusical.com and there it was...

Roland has lowered the price on their MV8800 to $1099.  There is no excuse for me know, time to save.  Oh and they do 5 easy payments if you like that stuff.

I wonder if this means something will come out next year to replace it. Time for them to clear stock and build up the anticipation of something new.  Cool

Re: Roland MV8800 Price Drop $1099

This is true, however from my own experience I would like to see a slightly larger screen. But most importantly the option to put effects on each individual track prior to mix down. Also I would like to see more audio tracks in the pattern mode.

How's the performance out to an external monitor?

Re: Roland MV8800 Price Drop $1099

Everyone who has used with an external monitor loves it that way. You are then able to use the mouse to move, copy and paste parts better. I think that is where Song Mode shines. You would think I would have already bought a monitor to do this....... Sad I actually have a hand me down flat screen, but it has no power adapter. I was going to find one, thus the still don't have one response.......... if asked....

Re: Roland MV8800 Price Drop $1099

In all honesty I think I have mastered about 20-30% of this machine. It can do so much and it frustrates me that I don't have more time to learn more. I mean you could put 128 tracks on a song ...... I think the most I have used is 12-16 tracks. I mean ...man... The thing is a beast.  Cool

Re: Roland MV8800 Price Drop $1099

I like having an all-in-one solution that has software an hardware feel.  The fact that you have had it for so long, and there's things yet to learn, makes me want it more lol.

Not to mention I have used Kontakt sounds into it. You can record right in and use your external vst software.

Re: Roland MV8800 Price Drop $1099

Shocked oh man. Did you download the pdf work shops? They are quick start down-loadable packages to get you started. That was all I used at first when I got started. If I had more in-depth questions I referred to the manuals that come with the MV. Let me know if you have questions or need the links for the pdf files. Congrats on your new girlfriend Grin

Re: Roland MV8800 Price Drop $1099

It will be worth the wait. It will be one of those pieces you never sell. Especially since you got such a good deal on your purchase.

Re: Roland MV8800 Price Drop $1099

Well finally home (for now).  I will try to give the MV a run soon.  Even when I'm home, my schedule is out of control...  especially when now there's so much on my honey-do list.
