platter not spinning

i recently purchased unit and it plays fine in cd mode  but in scratch mode
the platter spins when it wants to     and most of the time it dont

 Cry      if you spin it manually it plays music till platter stops
and some times it  jigles forward and backwards

    ive gone tru diagnostics when it was working and passed all tests
but when it dont spin it fails brake and spin part
     Cry

sounds like some sort of controller board - can anyone else help with this??

The most common problem with the DZ's has been the sensor and the sensor disk. You could start there in regards to troubleshooting, or just take it to an authorized dealer and get an estimate.

The sensor & sensor disc have nothing to do with the platter spinning - they just tell the computer how fast the platter spins & where it is relative to itself & the music (if that makes sense)

My guess (& it is a guess) is that it is whatever controls (or makes) the platter spin. Not so much the motor I would think, but some sort of controller board or PCB.
I would either do what Tiger said & take it to an authorized repair center - or download the service manual & find out what drives (or tells) the platter to spin...
