Serato

Just bought Serato Scratch Live to use along the DZ's. It appears in absolute mode, i can utilize the cue point, does anyone know if I can still use
the cue pads? (Love those things!!)

Re: Serato

I use Torq with my DZ's. In my experience the cue pads don't always respond to the cue point because you are referencing a signal on the cd signals. It has to do with the combination of the cd signal being read and the software I imagine.

Re: Serato

I've been using Serato with my DZ for a few years now.
I play almost exclusively in Absolute mode.
I use the cue pads ALL THE TIME!
I have no lag whatsoever.

Re: Serato

I also use Torq & thought the cue pads were made redundant with the DVS - is this wrong?

What is "absolute" mode in serato?

Re: Serato

It's really just like a 'Vinyl' mode

The track responds to the movements and position of the timecode signal.
- If the signal is at the beginning, then the song is at the beginning.
- If the signal goes back and forth, then so does the song.

The other 2 modes are Relative and Internal.
Relative:  I won't even bother attempting to explain this.
Internal:  Self explainatory... play each channel from within the program instead of using the CD/Turntable... a mixer is still needed.
