The last firmware that Panasonic released for the SL-DZ1200 is version 2.3. It addressed some sound issues and some members reported faster loading times. You will need the following to complete this task:
* 64MB SD Card or less
* SD Reader/Writer (Do not have to be Panasonic brand)
*
Firmware 2.3 (Thanks to Tigersharc1 for Providing the Files)To find out what firmware version is installed on your deck, you need to power it on while holding button number 1 (Sample Pad) and the Execute button SIMULTANEOUSLY for at least 5 seconds. After 5 seconds the firmware version will show on the screen. At this time you can release the buttons and the turntable will continue to boot normally.
Preparing The Firmware* Do not change the file names after download.
* Format SD card with SL-DZ1200 and not your PC/MAC.
* Copy files to the root directory of SD card.
Installing Firmware* After the files have been copied to SD card, insert it into SL-DZ1200 slot (with deck off).
* Power on while holding down cue pads 1,2,3 and 4.
* The lights on cue pads 1 and 2 will turn on indicating that the installation has begun.
* Cue pads 3 and 4 will turn on afterwards and finally all cue and sample pads will be lit once installation is complete.
Note: Please do not switch off unit while updating. This may result in damage to the unit. Do not re-start until all pads are lit and all activity has ended. To verify that the installation was successful please repeat steps above to find out firmware version.
